Silke Gastine currently works as Senior Pharmacometrician at Sanofi in Frankfurt, Germany. She is a pharmacist by training and gained broad expertise in applying modelling and simulation to pediatric populations with her former role at the Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health at University College London, where she designed and analysed academic and NGO-funded neonatal and pediatric PKPD studies. As honorary senior research fellow she still supervises pharmacometrics PhD students at University College London.

Silke Gastine obtained her PhD in Pharmacometrics and Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Münster, which also involved clinical work in the pediatric oncology department and a research stay at the Centre of Excellence in Infectious Diseases Research at the University of Liverpool. As a pediatric pharmacist at the University Children’s Hospital Münster she was also responsible for neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.

At Sanofi Silke Gastine now brings both pediatric and pharmacometric knowledge into the Translational Medicine and Early Development department, where she is part of the clinical PK and PKPD Modelling and Simulations group.
