Dr Christos Kontogiorgis is Assistant Professor of Hygiene at the Department of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace, Alexandroupolis, Greece. He received his Pharmacy degree in 2000 (MPharm) and his postdoctorate degree in 2004 on Natural Occurring Products with impact on Public Health. He is supervisor of postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, and postgraduate students. He has organized the first research group on Pharmacoepidemiology in Greece and he is coordinator of the National Symposium of Pharmacoepidemiology. He actively participates in ENCePP and he is external expert-advisor in Greek HTA. His fields of expertise include: Pharmacoepidemiology, Epidemiology, Nutritional Epidemiology, Public Health, Hygiene, Natural occurring Products with potential biological activities. He has been involved either as Member of the Coordination Team or as Researcher in both European and National Research Projects. He is a co-author in over 80 PubMed- and Scopus- indexed papers and more than 300 studies presented in National and International Conferences. He participates in the Editorial Board of National and International Journals, and he has been appointed as Guest Editor in special issues.
